Rexdale

In September 2009 alone, the Toronto Real Estate Board reported 8,196 sales of single family homes.  This is an increase of two percent since August 2009 and also a twenty-eight percent increase of sales reported in September 2008.  Being a prime neighborhood of Toronto it is only expected that Rexdale is not experiencing any fall in sales this year.

 

Looking at the area since 1980 through 2008 the average costs of homes in the Toronto region has also continued to rise.  The past 28 years reflected in this area of Ontario have shown that the average cost of a home in Toronto in 1980 was sold at $75,000.  In the year 2008 the average cost of a home in Toronto has risen to approximately $375,000.  

 

The peak of cost in real estate in the Toronto area has continued to grow even within a single year.  The average selling price of a home in this region based on September 2009 sales was $406,877.  This reflects a five percent increase since August 2009 which reported an average cost of a home in the Toronto area at $387,921.  Furthermore, it reflects a ten percent increase since September 2008 which reported an average cost of a home in the Toronto area at $368, 549.

 

Of the homes sold in the Toronto area in September 2009, including the neighborhoods of Rexdale there were a variety of homes sold.  These included single family detached, semi-detached, townhouse etc. As usual, single family detached homes make up the bulk of all sales at 46.9% and condominium apartments coming in second 24.4%.  The rest of Septembers sales included 11.2% semi detached homes, 8.3% condominium townhouses, 7.1% attached/row houses, 1.6% link houses, 0.3% co-op apartments and lastly 0.1% of sales made up by condominiums detached.

 

As said earlier the majority of the homes sold were sales of single family homes during the month of September 2009 in the Toronto areas.  These sales produced prices ranging from $90,000 to $1,500,000 for a single family home in the Toronto neighborhoods.  Of this huge price range the majority of sales produced in September 2009 could be found within the $300,000 to $400,000 price range.

 

These sales and statistics can only reflect that there is much more to come for Rexdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada area to come.  As sales continue to grow and being apart of Toronto, a huge city in the Ontario region, we can only assume that Rexdale will be doing well for quite some time to come.
